A little about Long Branch BMX..
Ya buy a bike from an old bike shop and the next thing you know
you are getting BMX history!
I stopped into The Bicycle Hub in Wickatunk, NJ to pick up a new PK Ripper and
lo and behold the owner Wally Tunison starts asking me about BMX. Well he gets
into it and the next thing I know it's all about Long Branch and the track!
I never even knew it was there! It ran from 83 to 85 and was taken down to make
room for condo's..LAME!
Anyway, Wally just wanted to let everyone know that the he was track director and that a gent by the name of Tony "Ducky" Schiavo also got the track up and running! It was located on Old Ocean Ave, right by the beach. I mean how INCREDIBLE would that be now to be racing by the beach! Dang politicians! Wally also informed that it was the 1st East Coast track that could be ran in both directions! Very trick!
Well, if you need some cool stuff, I recommend stopping by The
Bicycle Hub, chatting with those guys and picking up a component or 2. Word
also has it that there are some trails out there behind the shop....
Thanks for all the info! Brett
